For this project, I was asked to create an onboarding journey for our small business customers where it was paramount that the business owner could set up the business all in a matter of a few hours. This is a high metric to achieve since our current enterprise users have a 10 people implementation team allotted to them to achieve the same result in a few days. There were technical constraints since I was re-imagining a process for a product that already existed.
One of our first step was to simplify the login in process since a username + password was one of the many concerns raised during our user study.

CURRENT ZENOTI SIGN IN
I identified some larger goals and defined an initial flow that would get the users from the sign up into onboarding.

Usability testing outcomes
1. The user may not want to finish all of the onboarding at once
2. The design felt too 'enterprise oriented' or 'not friendly enough'
3. While the wizard feel was great, blocking the exit to check out the was deterring the users from adoption
4. There were too much information to fill out. While this was much lesser than the enterprise, it still wasn't simple enough for a small business customer
I created a design hypothesis when presenting my design to stakeholders alongside options with suggestions from my managers and teammates. This allowed me to not only present my vision with more clarity, but also provided a north-star to guide my design process from start to finish.
Through this project, I was able to learn Onboarding design best practices and to optimise heavy B2B SaaS product for a business by treating it more consumer friendly. I also experimented a lot with creating some aspects of internal design components library to build the design with fresh colours/gradients/fonts to double down on the new/fresh feel of the Zenoti Small Biz .
Final Onboarding Flow
Some new aspects introduced in this updated design are
1.The glass effect for the card and pop ups
2. Mesh effect gradients that give a fashionable design output and stays within the beauty and wellness space
3. Introducing elements of delight such as security requirement for passwords and object oriented icons
4. Drawing all the line illustrations for the design
